Batrec Industrie AG is a worldwide operating recycling company with its headquarters in Wimmis (Switzerland). We have specialized on the economic, environmentally friendly and sustainable disposal of hazardous waste, especially batteries and mercury.

The focus of our work is on highest quality, safety and environmental standards.

Batrec Industrie AG is the only company in the world that has developed a system which completely isolates hazardous toxins and metallic substances contained in spent batteries in a closed cycle and converts them into new products. Hazardous waste is turned into valuable raw material which can be returned to the production cycle. This cycle guarantees a sustainable management of resources, is highly beneficial to the environment and is regarded as gold standard worldwide.

Our Ambitions

Batrec Industrie AG is aiming at the integration of ecology and economy. Our goal is to ensure the most economical and eco-friendly disposal and recycling of metalliferous hazardous waste for the benefit of our customers and the environment.

We cooperate with our customers in a spirit of partnership and transparency. We care for the safety and health of our employees. For us, preserving the environment has a high priority. Our ambitions in the area of safety and environment have lead to measurable results. In 2001 we have been awarded the ISO Certificates 14001 and 9001 (Quality and Environment). The OHSAS 18001 Certificate, Safety, is in preparation.

Our Competence

Batrec Industrie AG has been processing hazardous waste since 1992. We are a worldwide pioneer in handling toxic substances and disposing of heavy metals.

Batrec technology differs from other well-known technologies in one crucial aspect: the processing of toxic materials, primarily toxic mercury. At Batrec, the mercury is distilled completely and recovered as metallic mercury. Presently, we know of no other technology equal to or comparable with Batrec technology.

We do not rest on what we have accomplished so far. The know-how and experience we have gathered since our company has been established are the basis for a continuous improvement process.
